


David Goode (born 1971) is a British organist and composer celebrated internationally for his artistry, acclaimed recordings, and lasting contributions to organ and choral music. His performances across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia have positioned him as one of the most respected figures in contemporary classical organ performance.
Goode’s musical foundation was laid at Eton College, where he was a music scholar, before moving on to King’s College, Cambridge as an organ scholar. Studying under David Sanger and Jacques van Oortmerssen, he achieved a first-class degree and an MPhil in music. During this time, he won prizes at the St Albans International Organ Festival and earned the Recital Gold Medal at the Calgary Competition, establishing his reputation early on.
From 1996 to 2001, Goode was Sub-Organist at Christ Church, Oxford. Between 2003 and 2005, he served as Organist-in-Residence at the First Congregational Church in Los Angeles, home to one of the world’s largest church organs. In 2005, he returned to the UK to become Organist at Eton College, where he inspired and led the musical life of the institution for nearly two decades.
Goode has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the BBC Proms, the Royal Festival Hall, and the American Guild of Organists National Convention. He has worked with leading ensembles such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the BBC Singers, and trumpeter Alison Balsom.
